According to NASSCOM, The Animation sector is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 27% to reach US $1.16 billion by 2012. The Indian animation industry is expected to require more than three laks animation professionals by 2012.

B.Sc. in Animation

The 3-year University-approved B.Sc. Degree in Animation offered at St. Albert's College, Ernakulam in assiocation with Toonskool, Bangalore. B.Sc. Degree comprises script-to-screen processes that prepare students for a higly demanding industry. The training module is rigorous, contemporary, and is designed to meet industry requirements. Empasis is placed on creating a professional quality demo reel and portfolio following industry standards. Students who complete the B.Sc. in Animation course will earn their degree from Karnataka State Open University, Mysore (KSOU). These students will be among the first few formally qualified Animation professionals in India.

Foundation Art, Classical Animation and Principles, Digital Art, Visual Design, Animation Drawing, 3D Modelling, Texturing, Pre-Production, Animation Layout & Design, Character Design, 3D Animation and Rigging, Digital Ligting and Staging, Digital Post - Compositing, Dynamics & VFX, Digital Post - Editing, Production Pipeline, Motion Graphics, 3D Plug ins, Production Tools & Techniques, Elective 1: Rigging/Lighting/Dynamics, Elective 2: Texturing/Rendering/Dynamics - Environmental Simulation., Studio Design, Project Management, Final Project and Portfolio Creation.
