India Today – Nelson Survey 2009 rated St. Albert’s College as one of the best 35 Science Colleges in India.and as the best 37 Commerce Colleges in India.
Over the years the number of application received by the College is increasing, and this year we received a total number of 6000 applications for a total strength 382 seats in the UG Courses, which is the highest in any College in Kerala.

St. Albert’s College. For example M. Sc. Space Science.
The College designed and applied to the UGC for M. Sc. Space Science and Technology Course under ‘Innovative Program – Teaching and Research in Interdisciplinary and Emerging Areas’. UGC approved the course by its letter No F. 14-10/2008 (Inno./ASIST) dated 30 Mar 2008 and sanctioned Rs. 50 lakhs as seed money for starting the course.
This course is conceived and formulated in association with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The UGC approved this course from among 432 applicants from all over the country. Only 12 institutions in India were selected for this highly prestigious program of assistance and St. Albert's College was the only institution from Kerala state selected for a postgraduate program in the area of science.
St. Albert ’s College has been sanctioned with a financial assistance of 36 lakhs from the Department of the Science and Technology (DST) for five years on FIST programme for strengthening the Research and Post Graduate teaching facility in the Department, as per order no. SR/FST/CSI – 147/2007 dated 25 th January 2008 through the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi College have purchased the FTIR and UV Visible Spectrometer under the above mentioned program, which is meant for research purpose. This instrument is imported from Shimadzu (Asia-Pacific PTE Limited), Singapore for Rs. 16 lakhs and installed in the newly renovated computer and instrumentation Laboratory. Ours is one among the 32 institutions all over India selected for this programme of the DST.
The College is having the State of Art facilities in areas like Tissue Culture, Medical Microbiology, Mushroom Culture, Management Studies, Chemical Analysis, Aquaculture, 2D and 3D Animation etc.
The College has undergone ISO 9001 : 2000 certification by TUV Rhienland, Germany
The College resorted to the change of College Timing for the first time in Kerala, there by creating opportunities for the students for taking add-on courses, skill development courses and also part – time jobs.
The College has been short listed by the UGC for the Autonomous status.
The College has been earmarked for recognition under the scheme Colleges with Potential Excellence by the M.G University.
College has launched three year Degree in B.Sc. Animation Course with state of art facilities in the year 2007.

he College came in the seventh place in the Sports and games in the University from among 142 Aided Colleges in Mahatma Gandhi University.
The College is the largest study centre of the Indira Gandhi National Open University – IGNOU, in South India and 35 PG Courses and 62 UG Courses are offered in St. Albert’s Study Centre.
Social Service Organisation – Love and Care awarded St. Albert’s College with Mother Theresa Award for the Best College for its social service activites like providing food packets and clothes for the needy and poor, consistently on all Mondays for the last four years.
The freshers are subjected to a Post Diagnostic test on their concerned subject to evaluate the real subject’s knowledge to device strategies for improving them through remedial coaching.
The department of English is conducting a separate test namely SEEP, St. Albert's English Proficiency Programme for the whole college and corrective measures are offered to them.
The outstanding students are allowed to appear for Business English Certificate Course (BEC) conducted in the college in association with Cambridge University, London.
Through Career Guidance and Placement Cell entire students are given – periodical soft skill training in areas like communication, group discussion techniques, body language, interview skills, training to work as a team, ettiquets and manners etc which will culminate to a grant finale namely financiere (garnishing), which is a one week long crash programme for passing out students.
Aptitude Analysis and Job Readiness Test: The final year degree students are subjected to an Aptitude analysis and job readiness test to identify the students whether they can go for job readiness, entrepreneurship and enterprising skills based upon the questionere provided to them. The questionere are includes IQ, verbal ability, clerical ability and observation, physcometric test. Scores identified and called for one to one interaction and two graphs are obtained and based on the graph their aptitude can be guided during the interview. Moreover their aptitude and defects can be interpreted from the graph and can be made known to them.
Every year the department of Aqua Culture conduct a Harvest Festival in the college owned 4 acres experimental farm which is actually the harvesting of the fish, prawns & lobsters grown by the students experimentally. This is done in association with the local villagers. The highlight of the programme is the classes handled by the local village fisherman sharing their traditional native fishing techniques with the students, the programme is followed by cooking competition and lunch with participation of the locals.
Department Grading : Every year the departments are graded based on a detailed parameters like research, consultancy, placement, relevance to the society, MOU’s signed with variance agencies, industry links, students interaction with other institutions, seminars, workshops, conferences projects conducted (National/International) etc
Zero Error: Every year the college conducts a programme called “Zero Error” which is a one month long drive to rectify all the defective gadgets, lab equipments, furniture plumbing equipments, computers electrical and electronic items etc. This programme was as good as buying new equipments there by saving lakhs of rupees.
